What is the weather during Hampta Pass Trek?

Hampta Pass lies at an altitude of 4270 m on the Pir Panjal range in the Himalayas. It is a small corridor between Lahaul's Chandra Valley and Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. The nomenclature of the trek was derived from Hamta Village, located below Sethan village, as part of the trek route.

Hampta Pass Temperature

The weather is quite pleasant in July and the region looks beautiful during this time.  The meadows are flushed with greenery with very little snow capping the mountains but you’ll find more snow covered regions as you ascend higher in the trek. Rain showers can be expected after mid-July but it’s not something to be worried about as the overall weather favors trekking and the rain showers are not regular. The snow starts melting in August and rainfall is expected during this month as well specially in the Kullu-Manali Valley. On the other hand Spiti receives bright sunshine during this time. The temperature remains between 12 degree Celsius and 20 degree Celsius during day time while at nights it can dip low to -2 degree Celsius on some nights to 6 degree Celsius on warmer ones. September and October are the months of snowfall. The temperature during these months revolves around 12 degree Celsius to 18 degree Celsius during day time and drops to even -6 degree Celsius on colder nights to 4 degree Celsius on warmer ones. The overall weather is pleasant during the Hampta Pass Trek.
